I clean homes in every corner of Woodstock, which means I've been inside a lot of kitchens, living rooms, and bathrooms across every neighbourhood in the city. That gives me a perspective most people don't have — I see how homes are built, how families live in them, and what makes each part of town feel different.
If you're thinking about moving to Woodstock — or you're already here and looking at a different neighbourhood — here's an honest, on-the-ground look at where families tend to be happiest.
Sally Creek and the Villages of Sally Creek
This is the neighbourhood everyone asks about. Located in the south end, Sally Creek is one of Woodstock's newer developments, and the Villages of Sally Creek in particular is a 55+ community that's beautifully maintained.
The homes are modern — open floor plans, good-sized kitchens, attached garages, and energy-efficient builds. For families, the broader Sally Creek area offers newer schools, wide sidewalks, and proximity to the Southside Park splash pad and playground.
From a cleaning perspective, these homes are a dream to maintain. The layouts are efficient, the finishes are quality, and the owners tend to keep things in great shape between visits. I clean several homes in Sally Creek on a regular bi-weekly schedule, and the consistency shows.
Devonshire
If Sally Creek is Woodstock's shiny new chapter, Devonshire is its warm, established soul. Located in the west end, Devonshire is all tree-lined streets, mature gardens, and character homes from the mid-century era.
The homes here have features you don't find in new builds — hardwood floors that creak in the right way, built-in shelving, big basements, and backyards with actual trees. Families love it for the walkability, the established community feel, and the proximity to good schools.
Cleaning-wise, character homes have their quirks — radiators to dust around, older tile to scrub carefully, and sometimes layouts that are more compartmentalized than modern open-concept homes. But they're rewarding to clean, and they look stunning when they're properly maintained.
Downtown and Old Woodstock
Downtown Woodstock is underrated for families. The heritage district along Dundas Street has beautiful Victorian and Edwardian architecture, the Market, the Museum, the Art Gallery, and walkable access to coffee shops and restaurants that don't require a minivan trip.
Homes in Old Woodstock range from lovingly restored heritage properties to more modest century homes. They're full of character — high ceilings, original millwork, front porches that beg for a coffee and a wave to the neighbours.
Living downtown means you're close to everything, and for families with older kids, the independence of a walkable neighbourhood is a real quality-of-life upgrade.
I clean several homes in the downtown core, and the one thing they have in common is that the owners care deeply about their spaces. That makes my job a joy.
North Woodstock
North Woodstock has seen significant growth, driven partly by the Toyota TMMC plant and partly by the wave of families moving from the GTA looking for affordable housing and a slower pace.
The subdivisions up here are newer — think 2015 and forward. Homes are spacious, with double-car garages, open-concept main floors, and big backyards. There's a community feel building as families put down roots, and new schools and parks are keeping pace with the growth.
For families relocating from Toronto, Mississauga, or the Hamilton area, North Woodstock offers the most familiar style of home — modern builds with the amenities you're used to, at a fraction of the price.
Oxford Hills, Cedar Creek, and the rural edges
Not technically neighbourhoods in the traditional sense, but worth mentioning for families who want space. The areas surrounding Woodstock — toward Innerkip, Thamesford, Embro, and Beachville — offer larger lots, rural quiet, and a slower pace.
These homes are often set back from the road, with acreage, workshops, and the kind of privacy you can't get in a subdivision. Families who homeschool, work from home, or simply want room to breathe tend to gravitate here.
I serve these areas too. The drive is a bit longer, but the homes are worth it — and the clients out here tend to be loyal, long-term regulars.
Every neighbourhood, one cleaner
No matter where you land in Woodstock, I'd love to help keep your home in shape. I clean in every neighbourhood mentioned above — and a few I didn't get to. Same person, same products, same care, whether you're in a brand-new Sally Creek semi or a century-old Victorian downtown.
